Ski BootA staple of any skiers’ wardrobe, the importance of a good snow boot cannot be underestimated! Here we run down our teams’ pick of the best women’s snow boots for 22/23.
A great-looking boot that brings an urban twist to the classic Alpine style. The Columbia Bugaboot has been a tried and tested favourite for many years when it comes to winter footwear and this years’ offering is no different, with a fashionable, minimalist design and high performance materials making this the ideal snow boot.
Effective waterproofing combines with impressive breathability in the Bugaboot Celsius, allowing ultimate comfort no matter the conditions. Heavy insulation keeps your feet warm and toasty even in the coldest snow, while the Adapt Trax outsole provides unparalleled traction on icy surfaces.
Our favourite thing about this boot is that it’s not at all limited to your once-a-year ski holiday. With a design that wouldn’t look out of place in the city, serious traction that produces on mud as well as ice, and a cushioned and stable Techlite+ midsole that provides comfort all day long, this boot is just as happy on a country walk as it is on the slopes!
Available in two stylish colourways.
RRP £125
A fantastic option for those looking for a great ski boot without a hefty price tag, these waterproof snow boots from Decathlon’s hugely popular ski brand Quechua offer warmth, waterproofing and an eco-conscious design. Ideal for those that feel the cold, these boots are lab tested to provide comfort in temperatures of up to -5 when stationary and -18(!) When moving, thanks to seriously effective insulation.
The 100% waterproof low cradle is combined with a water repellent upper to provide protection in all snow conditions, while Quechua’s SNOWCONTACT technology ensures good grip thanks to the unique tread pattern and 4mm studs. What’s more, the outer fabric, lining, laces and loops are all made from 100% recycled fabric, something we always love to see!
RRP £39.99
Helly Hansen W Isolabella Court
A cute, mid-rise option for those who want a high-performance partner to level up their ski outfits, the Helly Hansen Isolabella Court is a real contender. With a a fully snow proof seam-sealed upper, a seriously cosy wool insole and Primaloft® lining, these boots will keep your feet both warm and dry, while the HH Max-Grip outsole provides superior traction. A boot that will look just as good on frosty winter days in the UK as it will in the Alps.
RRP £120
Sorel Women’s Glacier XT Waterproof Exploration Boot
Seriously snowy days call for seriously heavy duty snow boots and the Glacier XT from Sorel definitely shine in extreme conditions. With cosy Omni-heat lining and a drawstring at the top of the boot to seal in the heat, these boots are guaranteed to keep you warm and toasty even on the coldest of days. Water and wind resistant, with a handcrafted waterproof vulcanized rubber shell (complete with Sorel aero-trac non loading outsole) providing impressive grip when walking on icy surfaces. They are on the higher end of the price scale, but they’re also some of the most technical women’s snow boots around, so if it’s pure performance you’re after, you can’t go wrong with these.
RRP £170
Moon Boot Icon
They say imitation is the highest form of flattery, and the Moon Boot is a snow boot style so iconic it has inspired many a boot in the years since its conception. However, none come close to the original Moon Boot, which is a comfortable, practical and seriously fun option for skiers who like to show off their style credentials.
Inspired by the 1969 lunar landing, the Icon boot is by far the most famous style from Moon Boot, available for both men and women in a wide variety of colours – from funky neon tones to muted neutrals. With specially designed foam lining that moulds to the shape of your foot, a 100% water repellent material and a rubber tread sole, they’re the perfect option for evenings exploring your favourite Alpine town.
RRP £105
OK OK, I know this is supposed to be a snow boot round-up, but I simply have to include these bad boys. The Cirrus Hut slippers are the perfect option for skiers and snowboarders coming in from the cold and looking for some cosy chalet footwear to replace their ski boots.
Ultra-light, insanely comfortable (we’re talking from first hand experience here, these are SO comfy), and made using recycled PrimaLoft® Silver Insulation Luxe and a recycled Pertex® Quantum outer to make them better for the planet. The Primaloft insulation actually mimics the performance of down, meaning that you can enjoy ultimate warmth, while still keeping these slippers light and very packable. Indeed, they weigh just 172g per pair, so are the perfect option for those touring between mountain huts or struggling with baggage allowances!
RRP £40
